Field Closure

The field will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 29th from 9:00 A.M. till aproximately

12:00 P.M. (noon) only, for IMAC Judging School. There will be open flying

all day Saturday, Jan. 28th.

Gateway Winter Swap Meet

The annual Gateway winter swap meet will be held on December 10th, 2011 this year at Lannie Rd field. We will be having a 50/50 raffle and an auction with items that are donated at the swap meet. So come out and enjoy some good comradery with your fellow gateway members or anyone who would like to attend. There will be no landing fees for this event and anyone who has a current AMA membership is welcome to fly. Hope to see everyone out there.

8th Annual Toys For Tots

The time has come for the 8th Annual Toys for Tots Fly-In sponsored by Gateway RC Club. Come out and support a great cause in the form of Christmas presents for underprivileged children. There will be some great pilots prizes and special prizes for those among you who are able to bring a new bicycle for children who, by no fault of their own, find themselves in the grips of poverty. I will make every attempt to get to the field at the butt-crack of dawn so you early electric flyers can get a jump on the combustion engine boys. As usual Dave has said he will be there to cook up some lunch. Take a look at the attached flyer and plan to attend.

CLEAN-UP AT THE AIR FIELD. VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR AN
OUTSIDE CLEAN-UP OF THE PAVILION AND RUN WAY ON SATURDAY
29 OCT. 2011. WILL START AT 7:30 AND GO TILL FINISHED. PLEASE
BRING FLAT NOSED SHOVELS, GAS POWERED EDGERS, GAS POWERED
BLOWERS, AND ANY OTHER TOOLS USED TO REMOVE THE GRASS
GROWING THROUGH THE RUNWAY AND TAXIWAYS. COFFEE AND
DONUTS IN THE A.M. AND HAMBURGERS AT NOON. PLEASE LET ME
KNOW IF YOU CAN MAKE IT.
REMEMBER, THE MORE HELP, THE SOONER THE FIELD WILL BE
OPEN FOR FLYING.

Gateway Fall Fling Member Day and Membership Renewal Fly-in

Don’t forget to put Saturday November 12th on your calendar. Don Gentry and I will be hosting this years Gateway Fall Fling Member Day and Membership Renewal Fly-in on your schedule. We plan on having at least one event / contest during the day, and the food will be free to all Gateway members. Family’s and friends are always welcome, but food will be free to members only. Additional food tickets will be sold as food allows. I’m working on a possible guest cook this year, so what will be served will be announced at a later date. If no guest cook is available, then count on BBQ and Fried Chicken. Got an idea. Email me.

I’ve spoken with the President about the Club hosting another Membership renewal raffle like was done last year, the Board is considering it. To refresh your memory… The membership raffle last year was for a DLE-55 gas engine. The way it worked was If you renewed your membership at the Fall Fling you received two raffle tickets…You had up to and including the Banquet to renew your membership to receive one ticket. This years raffle prize, if authorized, will be announced at a later date.

Remember it’s Saturday November 12th. We will start early with FREE Coffee and Donuts. Electrics will start the day off before the restrictions, then we will open with the National Anthem just prior to 9am, then the Pilots briefing, and then Open Flying. Since Don Gentry and I are hosting Dave Keller will be (at this time) unable to be at the field, so volunteers are always appreciated.

No landing fee’s. So if you don’t renew, your still invited to attend, fly, and eat!

Well its here …. the Gateway RC Video Channel !!!! Gather up all your old videos and new ones too and lets get them up on the GatewayRc video channel. For access you must send me an email request and be a Gateway Rc Member. After I verify that you are a member I will send you username and password to upload your favorite RC videos. And get this ….. the lastest 10 videos will be automatically posted here on our website as well. So no need to email all the members to tell them about your favorite plane you “lawn darted” into the field …. or the miraculousness save or your best 3D maneuver …. It will be here for all to see !!! So let get those videos uploaded club members !!!!
